What's up with the name?

Recently I have discovered that the name Jackson is quite popular these days. It was only a few months ago when Travis come up with the name for our new baby boy. The one I had picked out just didn't do it for him, so after much consideration...or some would call it arguing...we agreed on the name Jackson Travis Kinley.

So last weekend I was working in the nursery at our church (granted this is a very large church) and I noticed that there were a total of 4 little boys under the age of 13 months with the name Jack. So, of course, I went home determined to find a new name for our baby. I would call Travis practically every hour with a new proposal, but he just wouldn't break. He really likes the name Jackson, regardless how popular it is getting. I still love the name, but just don't want my baby to become mixed up in a sea of Jack's, Jacks' or Jackson's. I'm sure every parent goes through this and if you don't end up with a very unusual name I guess you are just going to have to put up with the duplicates. I have thought more about his initials though, J.T., kind of cute huh?

Check out the new link I have to the left. This is my friend Meagan Gaines who is going to take my maternity pictures next month. She's awesome and I can't wait till y'all get to see them!!

Oh and just in case y'all were wondering, no the flooding down here is not anywhere near our house. We live in southwest Ft Worth, where it's a little more hilly, so the water just fills our pool, waters our lawn and runs off down the hill. In comparison to Casper, looks like the weather is nicer in Texas than in Wyoming. Somehow we switched this summer! :-)

Take care!

No turning back...hello parenthood

Ok, so here is proof that we are indeed going to be parents late this summer. I am 26 weeks today--June 22-- but at my appointment last week the little guy is measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Jacks (if you haven't caught on yet, that is going to be his name) probably has Travis' long legs, because everytime we have seen him in an ultrasound we just get lots of legs--oh & he likes to moon the camera as well, always reminding us that yes, he is a boy!!

This is Jack's 1st carhart sweatshirt, which grandma Sandy got for him. This picture is from the baby shower my friend Tara and my mom threw for me last month when I was in Wyoming for short a visit.

In West Berlin Standing infront of what is left of The Berlin Wall

My first rodeo...

I stole this idea of keeping up with family and friends via the internet from another friend that I keep up with via the internet...make sense? Well welcome to my blogs!!! ;-) They will probably be random, like my thoughts. Anyway, thanks Lori for the idea!!

What is new with us? Not much, well unless we haven't seen or talked in a while, then I guess we do have some bit of big news. Travis and Crissy are finally having a baby!! What!? Yes, after 8 years of marriage, 6 years of college and moving 3 states south 2 years ago, we finally decided to have the irreplacable-never-forgetting-nerve-racking first baby. Due date? September 27...which by the way, I can do math and it was my suggestion to wait a few more months so the Texas heat wouldn't be an issue while pregnant and I can tell you that Travis' exact words were...."that's selfish, it's not up to us when it happens." Well the good Lord has a great sense of humor and now here we are 6 1/2 months pregnant and living in TEXAS!! But He also has mercy, because this summer has been cool and rainey thus far, so it's pretty bearable right now.

I'll post some pics and fun stuff later!
