Jacksonese

When you ask JT a question and he hasn't heard you he'll say to you "What's tat?" He tries to be so big and grown up, it cracks me up.

I took him to NRH2O, a very small kid friendly water park in the area. He LOVED it! He got some one on one time with Mommy and when we got home he told Calvin, "Talvin, da water park waz wheely fun, but your a baby so you couldn't doe....but when you det bigger broder will take you...otay?"

How about part of July in pics?

Goodness! Time flies and being a mom-of-two makes it go even quicker. We've had a busy month between the 4th, my bday, our anniversary, VBS and sickness...well it's just been non-stop here.

Calvin is 3 months now and starting to do the tripod version of sitting up. He's such a happy baby except when he's in his car seat, but when he cries it's more like his feelings are hurt than him being mad. Poor baby, he just wants his mama and not strapped in the seat. He loves watching Jackson and gets the biggest smile on his face when he sees him. He's still a great sleeper and eater. He loves to chew on his hands and kick his feet at anything dangling by him.

Jackson will be 3 in a few months...can you believe it?!....and since mommy had a bday that's all he can talk most days....when he has his bday! He's getting more and more bossy but less and less of the 2 year tantrums so I guess it's a give and take. Here are some funny things he's said:

I was sitting next to him on the couch, while he was playing and he looked at me and said "mommy, you doe in da ti-chen and make me some dinner, I'm tinda detting hungry".
Then while I was cooking his dinner I was dancing to the music playing and he informs me, with his finger up "mommy, you tan only dance here in dis ti-chen, do not dance on dat table...otay?" Just for the record I have never danced on a table in front of this child.

Calvin gets stuffed up about once a month and we end up having a hard night of sleeping, which makes for long mornings. Well despite how many times he's woken up in the night, Calvin is ALWAYS smiling, cooing and laughing in the morning. Well the other morning he looked at me, smiled and said "mama" now I KNOW for certain he does not know what he's saying but it was a nice little reward for the long night.

Jackson has started consistently calling me "mom" now instead of "mommy". At first I was a little taken back by it and I'm still wondering where he learned it but I do realize that eventually they grow up....I just didn't think "mommy" would disappear so soon, but then we are talking about Jackson here and that boy likes to think he's about 10 years older than what he really is.

Here's a whole slew of pics because I've run out of things to remember.....one day I'll get my brain back.

Taken July 1 to document one of the very few times this child has ever fallen asleep in his car seat. We even went out an bought him a brand new one thinking maybe he was mad that he had gotten his big brother's hand-me-down, NOPE, he's just a hater!

Oh...I'm awake and I'm getting ready to blow if you don't get me out of this thing ASAP!

It's like they have the same stride...

Looking for a good spot to light up some fireworks we bought pre-4th of July

all sweaty from being outside helping daddy mow

whew.....it's hot out there mom!

Happy 4th of July!

My friend Paula has the most amazing children with HUGE servant's hearts. Here's her 2 oldest entertaining Jackson and his BFF, Benjamin. Eve is brilliant...she would kick that soccer ball about 30 yards out and make those 2 boys race for it. Burning up that b-o-y energy

Poor Katie....she was the only girl in the toddler range and the boys would have NOTHING to do with her. T-rav said he caught Jackson and Benjamin riding in his little John Deere tractor and they were making her ride in the back dump bed. T-rav told them to let her ride up front and one of them get in the back....so what'd they do? They both just got out instead and walked off. T-rav told them both as they walked off "you're going to regret that in about 12 years!" Silly daddy, they are 2, they could care less about girls! Katie loved it because she didn't end up having to share the truck or the little kid yard equipment that was in the back of it. She has two older brothers so she knows how to hang tough.

Another disgruntle....Gavin wouldn't drive the truck till Katie got out. Look at him so angry because she's wanting to go for a ride.

Little did we know that we were in for a show that night. There were fireworks in every direction you looked....big ones and they were coming one right after another! It was awesome!

Kids love sparklers! As we were making Jackson and Katie stand next to each other and say cheese I mentioned that we would show this picture at their wedding some day and be sure to mention how Jackson treated her that day too. Ha! Ha!

Katie and her mommy, Suzi

I love Jackson in this picture....those roaming candles were LOUD, but it didn't scare him, he was just backing away

more fireworks to the south of us.

My camera wasn't catching them the darker it got for some reason...but this face is too funny! The best part, it was all in our backyard with our awesome sleeping baby snoozing away in his crib in the house.

Loves cantaloupe! I think he would have ate the entire bowl if I would have let him.

This boy is a kicker. He loves getting his feet on anything that moves...not so much a grabber with the hands yet, but he can grab things with his toes. He got his mommy's monkey feet for sure!

Sometimes stickers go on the face too!

Turning into a little blondie and starting to look a little more like his big brother

He loves to help mommy cook dinner but since he can't slice most things in the kitchen I let him practice on his bananas. He's cuts all the slices almost exactly the same size, lines them up and then eats them one by one. He's CRAZY!

And we are CRAZY for letting him help us paint. We were shocked, he's really good at not making a mess and painting right were we tell him to

He then discovered that he could make a design by using the side of the handle. It look good if you asked me, but Mr Type-A aka Daddy wouldn't have it.

Calvin doing his best to help out.....he's in the cheering section at this stage

Glasses we made out of bend-a-roos!

He loves this bouncy seat.....he laughs and kicks at the spiders forever sometimes.

Crashed...look at those thunder thighs in the making, just like his big brother.

He had an ear infection and after some meds he ended up sleeping til 9:30 one morning. I had to go check and make sure he was breathing

Wrestling.....Calvin is eating his fist and refereeing.

Doing some painting when he was sick.

This is one of my favorites and I have the cutest video of it too. Calvin was actually looking at the book that Jackson was reading to him.

This made me laugh

‎"Just think real positively and everything will turn out right....that's like re-arranging the deck chairs on the titanic, your just getting a better view" C. Swindoll

A little chuckle to get you through till later today when I'll post some pics and updates about the boys during nap time.

Vacation Pics

Again, I need to get my 2 cents in before the pics steal your attention. I have to share with you about Jackson's grateful heart, it's one of the great qualities about his personality. When ever we get back home from doing something fun and when I'm taking him out of the car he'll usually say "dat was fun doe-ing to ______, tanks mommy for taking me." The first time he did that was back in March but it is usually standard these days when he gets home from somewhere he had fun at. A couple of days before we left for vacation we all went to a Mexican restaurant in Lake Worth because Jackson thinks that you ALWAYS go out for tacos, you don't make them at home....something that I taught him and am very proud of, ha! ha! Why make tacos at home when you have access to some of THE BEST Tex Mex down the road and for a reasonable price at most places? Anyway when T-rav was putting him in the car Jackson told him "Tanks daddy for taking me to westwant". He also told the waitress inside "tank you" with out being prompted when she put his plate down in front of him. Granted, he's a stinker a lot of other ways, but I'm so proud of the good qualities he possess too!

The day before we left...he's getting so big!

With T-rav's grandma, or aka Gigi.

Part of the reason we went to Wyoming in June was to help celebrate 50 years of marriage between these two people. Crissy's Grandpa Ed and Grandma Frances were married June 20th 1960 and it was so much fun to try to surprise them with tons of family and lots of love. They are only human but I can tell you first hand that they are leaving a legacy of loving each other through thick and thin! I am so grateful for all they have done for me....I love you grandpa and grandma!!!

The sunglasses are hiding my blood shot eyes, I was so tired that first day. I seriously felt like I had a hang over, but with out any of the fun before it...what's that about?

Look who's taking a paci now so mommy doesn't have to hold her pinkie finger in his mouth any more

And brother can help out too
