I'm 8 weeks old now and will be officially 2 months old on Monday!!

Beginnings of a smile.... I was just 5 weeks old here.
Daddy special trick that gets me un-fussy. One arm between legs, other on the side of leg and we pat my tushy till I conk out. Do it my way and we all get along...K?
Lifting my big ol head up high. Me and mommy noticed that I have a larger head than most other babies my age, hopefully I will grow into it, but means I'm really strong to be holding it up this high!!
I love going for walks, I just look up and smile at mommy the whole way!
Watching the Colts - Patriots game with daddy....we were going for the Colts..Peyton's our fav!
Just woke up...I'm kind of grumpy in the mornings.
Me and momma.
This is the ridiculous Thanksgiving outfit my mommy put on me. Daddy said I looked like an Indian.
Smiling at mommy, she seems to like my smiles
Watching the Today Show while mommy got ready for us to leave.
come on mommy, just put me in the car seat and let's go
love this contraption this dude call Santa brought me. Apparently I'm so good mommy said he wanted to give it me early

Ringaling...Hear them ring?

Soon it WILL be Christmas Day!! I love this time of year and not because of the gifts but because it just brings a different feeling to me. To be thankful for so many blessings in my life despite the tough circumstances we all face through out the year. Just to reflect on all the good that has happened this year and years past, plus things that we have gone through to build character, perseverance and to bring us to where we are right now. I don't think I would change a thing. I'm also so thankful for the ultimate gift that was given to us all on December 25. Having a son of my own now, I can't imagine ever giving him away to an ungrateful world, which sadly I help in that population. Maybe if we all remember that no matter who you are every perfect gift and blessing comes from above, and the true meaning of Christmas, then we can enjoy all the extras that come with the holiday. Don't get me wrong, I'm human just like the rest and I like the gifts too!!

Ok so what is new around our house? Well Uncle Scott & Aunt Arliss came to visit for Thanksgiving and we had a GREAT time!! I'm bummed that I didn't get a picture of J.T. with them, so many things going on I just forgot. We didn't have a turkey but instead Travis smoked a brisket on the charcoal bbq, it was so good! He's got the Texas BBQ down that's for sure! J.T. is developing more and more of a schedule and I'm finding that I'm falling in line. That blew my idea of "creating a schedule" for him out of the water. He's a late napper, usually from about 3 pm to 5:30 pm, which I would have never planned it to be that way, but is turning out to be a real blessing because I have no choice but to rest which is what I really need to do.

I'll post some pics when the camera battery charges...he's gotten so big! 8 weeks old tomorrow!!

Whew!

That's all I can say. Time has flown by and I can not believe that he is now 6 weeks old!! It has probably been the most frustrating, emotional, tiring, rewarding and best 6 weeks. I don't think I have had so many experiences compacted down into a small time frame as being a new parent. When people say it is the hardest job, they aren't kidding, but they also say it is the most rewarding....i have to admit that I have never worked so hard for so little pay. I get paid in quiet moments of sleep and a big toothless smile that says "yeah, mommy your doing it right this time!" Those make all the screaming fits and fussy evenings worth it. We had our 1st smile, REAL SMILE, last week! I can't wait till the first real laugh comes, he's so close. By the way, he weighs 10 1/2 lbs now and is 25" long!! He's going to be taller than me by the time he's 7 yrs old!

Now for a little bragging.... I am married to the greatest dad in the world. Travis has been awesome from the moment J.T. was born. In the hospital he was the one changing ALL the diapers, rocking the baby, bringing him to me to feed (I was stuck in the bed for the 1st few days due to my c-section) and taking care of me to boot. The best part is that didn't stop when we got home. He is consistently still helping in the evenings after work and the weekends. He comes up with more tricks than me to soothe J.T. when he is fussy. He plays with him, bathes him, dances him to sleep and even insisted the other weekend on taking J.T. out in the swing to the garage so he can hang out with him while he put the cover on the bed of his truck. I just love that my son has such an awesome father that truly loves him, even when he is being extremely fussy, which we all know can wear any parent out. J.T. will never have to wonder if he is loved, which means so much to me.

Oh and about the new name "J.T." I was looking at him the other day and noticed that he's changed, he didn't look like a Jackson to me anymore. I think he has strong features and looks like a little man, so I started calling him J.T. and it just fits! Of course he's going to be sooooo confused, daddy still loves the name Jackson, so sometimes it's J.T. and others it's Jackson. Y'all can call him whatever he looks like to you....J.T. or Jackson.

Here's some new pics!

Hangin with daddy
Taking the bottle from mommy...this was a HUGE accomplishment!! Now going out into public is so much easier....I just take a bottle of pumped milk

Week 4!!

Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Mike came to visit this week. Grandma has been cooking tons of food and freezing it so that that I don't have to cook till after the 1st of the year!

Jackson is holding his head up even better and now scoots his body across the blanket on his stomach when I put me hands under his feet. The Dr says that it hits a reflex to want to push off of your hand. Plus he is smiling so much now. Wish I had the camera permanently attached to me so I could catch these things to show you all. He's growing so fast and I can't believe he's now 5 1/2 weeks old....where did the time go? Here's some more pics!!

Just relaxing
Wow!! He acts like he's been doing this forever!
