The low down on mommy

Because y'all are dying to know this right? ha! ha!

1. What is your favorite thing to snack on while your blogging?
I try not to eat and type, bad combo in Crissy's world

2. What is one thing you wouldn't want to live without?
My non-spiritual, unemotional answer would be a hairbrush

3. Beach, Mountains, or Farm? Where would you live if you had a choice?
This is a hard one to narrow down...I'm thinking the beach because I NEVER get to go there. My in-laws have a cabin in the mountains so I feel like I could just pop up there anytime I felt like I needed a mountain retreat. A farm?....not really digging animals lately. I don't hate them, I just don't want to take care of any right now.....still mourning Copper I guess. I didn't realize how much I loved that stupid dog!

4. What's your least favorite chore/household duty?
Keeping up with groceries.....what a beating!

5. Who do people say you remind them of?
They don't, because I usually hear that "He broke the mold when He made you!". It used to bother me, but now that I'm older I like it that I'm different

6. Prefer parties and socializing or staying home with the fam?
I like to socialize but I hate being gone too many nights in one week. I guess I like whatever I'm lacking.

7. What's your all time favorite movie?
Not much of a movie watcher....just takes so long and I have a million other things I could be doing. When I was a kid I watched Mary Poppins over and over. I can recite Steal Magnolias word for word from when I was in Jr high.

8. Do you sleep in your make-up or remove it like a good little girl every night?
Makeup? Who has time for that these days? But when I do wear it I admit I'm so lazy.....on a good night I will wipe it off with a wet rag, but usually I sleep in it.

9. Do you have a hidden talent or a deep desire to learn something that you've never had a chance to learn? What is it?
I would love to learn how to sew. I'm actually going to get a chance to do that this next semester with Miss K. We're going to make a patchwork quilt for JT's bed.

10. What's one strange thing you're really good at?
I can remember dates (birthdays, anniversaries) really well. I used to be good at phone #'s too but cell phones have stiffuled that talent. I'm also really good at remembering directions and shortcuts. Travis says that I'm a walking talking Mapquest. Pregnancy brain has made that a little more difficult lately

11. What first attracted you to your spouse?
He was funny and fun to be around (oh and the blonde hair and blue eyes....love that combo!)

12. What is something you love to smell?
The smell of newness. A newborn baby, new clothes, anything that is brand new has just a certain smell to it.

13. Tell something about you that you know irritates people.
Where do I start? I think I can be really bad about calling or returning calls. The only time I like talking on the phone is when I'm in the car.

14. When you have extra money, what's the first thing you think to do with it?
It used to go straight to savings, but I've slipped into a bad habit of spending it lately

15. Are you a silent laugher or a loud laugher? What makes you laugh the hardest?
I am a loud laugher. I don't like to be but it just happens. Unless it's super funny then Travis says I wheeze. Lately it's been Jackson and the things he does, but most of the time it's Travis. He has such a dry sense of humor and you never know what he's going to say sometimes.

16. Where is your favorite place to shop?
Hmmmm.....I don't like a lot of choices because it overwhelms me, so I would have to say Costco for groceries and household stuff, Old Navy or Ann Taylor Loft for clothes.

17. What's one thing you'd do more often if you had more time?
I'd probably read more books. Of course I could do that if I would turn off my computer.

18. Are you a big spender or frugal?
Depends on what it is. I'm a coupon clipper and a Walmart price matcher shopper, but when I'm tired of replacing junk things in my house every few years I then buy a better brand, which costs more. Travis always says "you get what you pay for!"

19. Who is your favorite character of all time?
Liz Lemon from 30 Rock ("suck it, you I-hop monkeys!")

20. Would you want to be famous?
Absolutely not! I love to go into hiding and would hate to have some creepy paparazzi people trying to snap pics of me in my pj's drinking coffee out back on the porch swing. When I'm out in public, I'm a public person, but I LOVE my privacy when I'm at home!

The prize for reading all this nonsense....an adorable pic of JT. Course only the grandparents will consider this a prize :-)

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!

Some videos!

He's really coordinated, which DOES NOT come from his mama

Whenever he sees you with the camera I've trained him to say "cheese!" then he'll say "I see?" because he likes to look at the picture I just took of him....so cute!

That's a rock!

You don't have to say everything you're thinking

Hmmm, I'm going to make that my new mantra. I learned it yesterday in Bible Study and it sunk in hard and fast let me tell ya, especially since I don't say a lot of things in love which then just comes across harsh. With my close friends and family I think it's ok, cause a lot of the time I am just joking around, but I need to curb it with more sensitive people for sure!

Speaking of saying what you think. JT was feeling frisky before bed time last night, which is the norm, but our realtor was here taking pics for the virtual tour on his web site (how high tech huh?). JT must have gotten a good vibe from him cause normally he's not much of a stranger associater. Anyway, he was running around the living room trying to get daddy to catch him and he turned to Mr Larry (our realtor) with a fist held high, a huge smile on his face and told him "knuckle samich, right here buddy!" We seriously could not stop laughing. That kid is hilarious sometimes.

A baby named Mater

Apparently Cars is our favorite movie and Jackson would like to leave a legacy for this stage he's in right now. Let me explain the situation a little more....JT loves to wrestle and loves it even more when he can jump on you. Well for obvious reasons that had to stop with mommy a few months ago (which I hate cause I love to wrestle too). I would tell him no, can't jump on mommy because there's a baby in my belly and it hurts when you jump on it. Being the little copy cat that he is and only after hearing that a few times he still lifts his shirt and tells me that he has a baby in his belly too. He also watched his favorite lady in the world get bigger with a belly this summer and then suddenly have this tiny baby in her arms (Miss Bekah). I don't know if he's made the connection but when he asks to see them he includes baby Jackie in the game of Name-your-favorite-Elizalde. Ok so moving on......I told him that we were going to give the baby in mommy's belly a name and asked him if he wanted to help. Stay with me cause it gets cute at this point.....He kind of looked around for a minute and I wasn't sure if he really knew what I was asking him. He lifted up his shirt, pointed at his belly and said "baby". I replied, yes that's Jackson's baby. Do you want to name your baby too?. He still was looking around, kind of processing it, then he walked over to me, lifted my shirt up, pointed at my bulge and said "baby Mater?" At first I was confused but then I asked him "what was that?" (which by the way he's like his mommy and DOES NOT like to repeat himself) so he yelled and jammed his finger into my tummy saying "BABY MATER!" To defuse his frustration at my lack of listening skills I calmly replied..."OK we'll name the baby Mater". He smiled with a huge smile and trotted off.

I'm hoping that he'll forget this little conversation because he can be pretty intense at wanting his way at times and I just won't ever be able to fully explain to this little boy that he was named Mater because his strong willed brother had a true fiery love for the movie Cars. Maybe we'll give him the nickname Mater. I know Jackson gave him that name in love because Mater is his absolute favorite in that movie.

A word about potty training.....we are on a 2 week countdown and we'll be testing the potty training waters over here at the Kinley house. I fear this more than giving birth ;-).

Another note....our house is back on the market. We have a awesome realtor this time, we both feel completely at peace with it and are excited to see where God will have us end up. Course we can't agree on anything concerning a new house, so that will be a test of our marriage once again ;-)

Just a bunch of pictures

He loves this chair...best money spent yet

Unwrapping his car from Grammie

Unwrapping his gift from mommy

It's a VACUUM!! He loves it because he loves to be a big helper and now mommy doesn't have to slow down to share her vacuum with him

Helping mommy make pumpkin muffins for his friends the day before his birthday party

We decorated after he went to bed the night before so when he woke up on the day of his party he was shocked to find all this hanging from the ceiling

Pumpkins for his friends to paint at the party

We spent his birthday together as a family. In the morning we had to get some stuff at Home Depot so we did the kids workshop. Him and daddy built a firestation bank. He's pretty coordinated, he would hit the nail 90% of the time with the hammer

Taking a break to eat my sausage roll daddy got me

His birthday was Sat, Oct 3, it was a rainy day Ft Worth and Travis's company family picnic was the same day, so we headed out to a huge ballpark complex in Mansfield where it was. Here's our kid running around like a hippy. Not a fan of shoes lately

There were 8 ball fields total. Just this one was covered in bounce houses of all shapes, sizes and interests. I would have been a ball for JT but because of the rain they were all slippery and soaked. He kept slipping and landing in puddles inside the bounce houses. Such a bummer it rained

Another ball field was set up for the food. As you can see they had little turn out due to the weather. These picnics are usually so fun and XTO goes to great lengths to make them unique and different each year. This year was a circus theme "the Greatest Family Picnic on Earth". They provide food, bingo with some BIG prizes (were talking i-pods, trips to HI, 57" Sony Flat screens) and tons of free fun for the kids. A ton of food was wasted that night because it was outside in the rain :-(

Enjoying some food under our umberella

They had free elephant rides for the kids and this was part of there interactive show. We didn't get a chance to ride one of them because of the rain

Headed home wrapped up in his new XTO picnic blanket. We got to see flying trapeeze people too under the Big Top tent. I didn't get any pics though.

The big baseball statues out front of the complex. He wanted to pick one up and take it home

Following daddy. It looks colder in the pic than it really was.

The next week at the zoo again. One of our favorite past times thanks to Grandma (Teresa), she gets JT his yearly zoo pass for his birthday each year. This elephant was scratching his rear on the pole .....so funny

Daddy taking a whack at JT's new Better Batter Baseball contraption he got for his birthday. He likes to hit balls inside the house, when we take it outside, he's more interested in pretending to mow and weed eat the lawn.

Dr Worsley did the "potty training ready" check list with us at our check up and said that if he's that he's more than likely ready to be potty trained. Mommy bought him some unders with Cars characters on em he's been putting them on over his diapers. Mommy is the reason we haven't started yet....to be honest, I'm a little scared to start potty training. The boy is all about control. Like his shoes?

One of the many perks of working at XTO is Travis can usually fly on one of their planes to his meetings at the field office in Midland in the morning and then be back in time for dinner. Travis likes it because he doesn't have to get to the airport 2 hrs early, go thru security, wait for delays....he just gets in and goes. JT is recently obsessed with airplanes so I was super excited to take him on Friday evening to pick up daddy at XTO Hanger at Mecham Airport. Daddy's plane right after it landed. I couldn't get a picture of JT's face because every time I would step in front of him and the runway he would say "move please mommy"

The plane daddy was on pulling into the hanger. This was the 1st time I'd been inside the hanger (I'm usually just waiting in the lounge part) and was shocked how clean everything was. Seriously, you could eat off the floor!

I love this picture! Running to daddy....so cute!

A tribute to a 2 year old!

Well Mr Jackson Travis Kinley, you have made it to the big 2 year club. I have to admit this IS NOT mommy's favorite age so far, but it sure is a fun one at times. You are such a great conversationalist and love to chit chat about everything....even what you are thinking as we are driving along in the car. Even though your birthday was officially last Saturday I wanted to wait till our check up with the Dr to post this. You, little man, are long and lean like your daddy. You weighed in at a healthy 26 lbs today and your height was in the 95% percentile (sorry the nurse told me how long and I couldn't remember). Your head of course was off the charts and I'm sorry to say but that comes from mommy. Dr Worsley, (whom you love by the way) after hearing you talk to him about the alligator he gave you, said that your speach was definetely well advanced.

A few of your favorite things are:

Color - Red, you always color and paint with red first. Sometimes you'll move onto other colors, but it's for sure your fav! You also know all of your colors including brown, pink, purple, black, silver.

Shapes - You know all the basic shapes and oval is the 1st one you'll point out each time.

Books - Dr Suess is in the #1 spot these days. Mr Brown Can Moo is one you love to read with daddy only because he makes the sound effects a lot more fun than mommy does. You loveGreen Eggs and Ham too, but you only let mommy read that one to you (I love how your particular with your book readers as well, by the way). Go, Dog Go is another repeater, but has taken a back seat to a new book you got for your birthday from the Dollar family If You Give a Moose a Muffin. I think you love this book because muffins are your favorite treat and love big wild animals.

Toys - those are changing a little lately but you still are a big fan of trains. Your obsession with trucks, trailers and boats is still huge and I think it's because you love to do anything your daddy does. You got a work bench for you 2nd birthday and we put it out in the garage next to daddy's. It's so cute how you'll "work" next to daddy. You want to be just like him and I know it warms you daddy's heart.

Some Jacksonese - You say the cutest things. The other morning you told me "mommy, det up peese. Need pantakes" So sleepishly I asked "you want some pancakes?" and you replied "o tay" OK is one of your classic responses and we find it so cute. You also like to tell daddy your going to give him a "knuckle sam-ich"

Video - Cars movie or as you say it "moobie tars", Veggie tales and Mickey Mouse Club House would be on 24/7 if it were up to you.

One more thing when we pray with you at night before bed you always pray along with us. Daddy will stop to let you lead us in pray for a bit and you some of the things you pray for are:

trains
friends
Bob (your yellow blankie)
mommy
daddy

You are such a precious gift to daddy and I. We love you very much and are so proud of you!

Painting pumpkins with your friends at your bday party
You and Sam working on your masterpieces
Singing you Happy Birthday, which you hated by the way and screamed the whole time. You also wanted to sit with Miss Bekah because she is one of your favorite people in the world
Opening presents!
Big boy with pumpkin fluff on his face

A truck, trailer and boat combo....one of the things you live for in life
Hmmm, do you look like your mommy? Maybe.....
The trimmer Grammie and Papa got you....you love to help daddy with yard work and have almost every equipment to match his
Your friend Benjamin trying to help open presents

Boy, oh boy!

We're having another boy! To tell you the truth I was shocked and a little sad. I wanted a girl so bad, or so I thought I did. But as it starts to sink in that this house will be full of testosterone, very high grocery bills and lots of hunting and sports equipment I've come to full terms with it and am very excited about the notion. The boys will get to share a room which will make the bunk beds we bought so worth it. They get to be all boy and into trouble together. My brother and I played well together but we had to take turns because if not lil sis was stuck playing cops and robbers and there would be no Barbie action to be had. I do look back and remember that after the age of 8 we didn't play together THAT much so I guess the 2 boy thing will be great for keeping each other entertained and having someone to play with. I'm truly ok with it now, and am looking forward to see another little boy pee in our pool for the fun of it!

Travis so sweetly tried to cheer me up yesterday after the sono. He reminded me that he feel in love with me because I'm a "guys girl". I like to hunt, fish, clean what I kill, boat, camp, water ski, wrestle and even take cheap shots, I find most things he does hilarious, I don't whine when I'm dirty and I never take longer than 30 mins to get ready. (I think that was the list he presented, maybe there was more?) So his point was that I was made for boys and that is why God is giving us what we need and not want I want. At the time I didn't think it was sweet what he said it, but now as I process I think it was a VERY kind attempt to get me happy about another boy.

We don't have a boy name picked, I was so set on this being a little Jenny that I refused to even consider a boy name. But we have 6 more months to pick so times-not-a-wastin for sure!

If y'all could continue to pray for the health of this baby and for me I would appreciate.
