Whew!

That's all I can say. Time has flown by and I can not believe that he is now 6 weeks old!! It has probably been the most frustrating, emotional, tiring, rewarding and best 6 weeks. I don't think I have had so many experiences compacted down into a small time frame as being a new parent. When people say it is the hardest job, they aren't kidding, but they also say it is the most rewarding....i have to admit that I have never worked so hard for so little pay. I get paid in quiet moments of sleep and a big toothless smile that says "yeah, mommy your doing it right this time!" Those make all the screaming fits and fussy evenings worth it. We had our 1st smile, REAL SMILE, last week! I can't wait till the first real laugh comes, he's so close. By the way, he weighs 10 1/2 lbs now and is 25" long!! He's going to be taller than me by the time he's 7 yrs old!

Now for a little bragging.... I am married to the greatest dad in the world. Travis has been awesome from the moment J.T. was born. In the hospital he was the one changing ALL the diapers, rocking the baby, bringing him to me to feed (I was stuck in the bed for the 1st few days due to my c-section) and taking care of me to boot. The best part is that didn't stop when we got home. He is consistently still helping in the evenings after work and the weekends. He comes up with more tricks than me to soothe J.T. when he is fussy. He plays with him, bathes him, dances him to sleep and even insisted the other weekend on taking J.T. out in the swing to the garage so he can hang out with him while he put the cover on the bed of his truck. I just love that my son has such an awesome father that truly loves him, even when he is being extremely fussy, which we all know can wear any parent out. J.T. will never have to wonder if he is loved, which means so much to me.

Oh and about the new name "J.T." I was looking at him the other day and noticed that he's changed, he didn't look like a Jackson to me anymore. I think he has strong features and looks like a little man, so I started calling him J.T. and it just fits! Of course he's going to be sooooo confused, daddy still loves the name Jackson, so sometimes it's J.T. and others it's Jackson. Y'all can call him whatever he looks like to you....J.T. or Jackson.

Here's some new pics!

Hangin with daddy
Taking the bottle from mommy...this was a HUGE accomplishment!! Now going out into public is so much easier....I just take a bottle of pumped milk
Our old smile....his new smile is HUGE, just waiting to catch it on camera
Family pic taken by Grandma Sandy
He was smiling but turned his head too fast for the camera. If you click on the pic to make it big you'll see his little smile!!

So happy to hear things are going well. Not sure if he is J.T. or Jackson yet, but I will definately know when we get to see him in person. He has such a huge smile in that bottom pic..... they never let you get the best moments on camera though.Sounds like Travis is realy taking to the whole dad thing. Colin and Jason do the same things..... Colin's phylosophy is ma ma gets the kid all day so evenings, mornings and weekends are his......... that includes diapers, food.... the whole kit and kaboodle. I think it is fare. It rocks that Jackson is drinking from a bottle.... something I don't think I started soon enough with our wild man..... 4 months was a long time. He is just growing so fast..... kids are amazing in how much they change in such a short time. Keep on taking pics and loving up that little man. Tell Travis hi and give the little one a snuggle from all of us.... can't wait for more adventures in the Kinley house.
