Week 4!!

Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Mike came to visit this week. Grandma has been cooking tons of food and freezing it so that that I don't have to cook till after the 1st of the year!

Jackson is holding his head up even better and now scoots his body across the blanket on his stomach when I put me hands under his feet. The Dr says that it hits a reflex to want to push off of your hand. Plus he is smiling so much now. Wish I had the camera permanently attached to me so I could catch these things to show you all. He's growing so fast and I can't believe he's now 5 1/2 weeks old....where did the time go? Here's some more pics!!

Just relaxing
Wow!! He acts like he's been doing this forever!

Because Andrea complained :-)..here are my 3 week old pictures

Here are some more updated pics because Andrea complained that the pictures i posted are "old". Don't forget to click on the pic to make it bigger...

My 1st pair of p.j.'s. It was getting chilly here the other night, so mommy had to put me in p.j.'s...oh so warm!!
Me and daddy hanging out after a fit I threw!
Mommy thinks I am so cute!!
Daddy forcing the paci...he insists that I will suck on this and not mommy's pinkie finger.
My neck is getting so strong that I can sit in my bumbo chair for a few minutes each day!!

Look how far I can pick up my head and I was only 3 weeks old!
Mommy dances with me at night to get me to go to sleep. She wants me to grow up with good rhythm.
I LOVE to sleep snuggled up under my mommy's chin. Why sleep in my own bed when I have her trained to let me always sleep where I can hear her heartbeat? Duh! She works for ME!!

Where does the time go?!

Dang, now I know why they give you 6 weeks after a baby. It's because we are so busy trying to figure this new little person out!! Wow, I can honestly say that I know what each of his cries are for...never thought that would happen. It's so strange to me that I know this little guy pretty well and he knows my voice so well that he will try to turn to it when someone strange is holding him. At first I thought that was so precious, now I'm thinking I will shut up a little more so I can give my arms a little rest.

This last week was a little stressful, but also a week of recovery. ALL of the family left, and so we were able to spend some much needed alone time as our own little family. We also found out why Jackson was so fussy the past week, he has a bad case of thrush!! Poor little guy had blisters all in his mouth which made it hard to eat, such on his pacie, or just be happy period. He and I are both on anitbiotics and Jackson is already a happier baby! Since we had to go see the Dr AGAIN, we found out how much Jackson weights....on Tuesday, Oct 23 we was 9.1 lbs!!! This kid is growing like a wead. The Dr suggested that i get a hobby and pump extra milk to donate to the hospital for the premie babies. I just laughed, cause making time for that would be INSANE!!

Ok, so back to my little chunker! He's not chubby, but long and slender like daddy, and really heavy to carry for long periods of time, which is what he wants because he hasn't been feeling well. Thank goodness for the Snugli that Tammy lent to us, what a life saver!!

I will post some pictures later this afternoon. I need to start getting ready for church and then we are having lunch with some friends afterwards. I feel like I have to pack up the house everytime we go anywhere...ha! ha!

Here's his birth announcement that Meagan did, of course she is AWESOME!!

Midnight rendevous

We are starting to get on some sort of schedule, although I have been told that it will change over night so I shouldn't get too used to it. Jackson is not a good sleeper during the day, which is good, because at night he sleeps about 5 hours at a stretch. Tonight is a little different, we are up a little later than usual due to family being in town and the schedule being altered a little. We'll try and get it back after they leave.

Went to the Dr for our 2nd week check up and he now weights 8 1/2 lbs and is 22" long!! Dr said he's doing fabulous and that most babies are only back to their birth weight by the 2nd week! He's getting so big and already out growing a lot of his little onsies, if that is possible. He goes back to the Dr at 8 weeks, but Dr Worsley said that I could come in at any time and weigh him if I want. I think I'll do it at 5 weeks, just to see how big he's getting. By the way...Love, Love, Love Jackson's Dr. He reminds me of Travis, kinda looks like him and is so super nice. He's also very positive which is so good for me. I was asking him if he thought Jackson might be colicky due to a couple days of him being really fussy and his response was..."well let's not just label him with such a horrible thing right away. I would hate for people to say that I'm a jerk just because I had a bad day. The 1st week of their life they are just recovering from the birthing process and are tired, the 2nd week they are start to adjust to their environment and they can get agitated in doing so. Just keep loving him and see if he gets better." Guess what, It Worked!! Jackson was just having a few bad days!

We have been going for little walks the past few days, since I can now lift him on my own. The weather here is BEAUTIFUL and in perfect Texas fall form. Highs in the lower 80's, no humidity and the leaves are just now starting to turn to the dark purples and reds. Jackson loves the stroller and mommy loves the fresh air, it helps me feel like a free person again. I have been trapped in my house the past 2 weeks due to my c-section. I'm healing quickly, but not fast enough for me!! Can't wait to feel normal again.

Here's more pics from last week. I have really cute ones from this week, but I can't find my camera cord to get them onto the computer.

This is so cute...Travis makes this face too!

Arms stretched up high for the nap!

We're doing good

We got to go home on Saturday, which is one day earlier than expected. Both mommy & baby are doing good! Jackson had his 1st appt today with the Dr and is doing excedingly well. He has not only gained back his birth weight but then 2 oz on top of that. Dr said that usually doesn't happen till week 2 or 3, so we have have a healthy baby boy!!

Crissy's grandparents came from Wyoming to help out, much to Travis's relief. Crissy & Jackson are being pampered and it's really nice to only have to worry about feeding the baby.

Here are some more pics from the hospital. I'll post some newer ones when I get some more time...HA! HA!

They got the time wrong on his crib card...he was born @ 1:52 pm

He's Here!

Our precious little man made his way into the world Wednesday, October 3 @1:52 pm. He weighs 7lbs 13.5 oz and is 19 inches long. He had to come by way of a cesarean section due to his positioning at the end. He wasn't breech, but instead was engaged in the canal with his face first. Dr tried to get him to back up and try again, but he was too far down. It would have broken his neck had we tried, so the obvious decision was a c-section. So you would think that my little would look great since he wasn't sqeezed out, but since he had his faced shoved down so far in me, he came out with a HUGE fat lip, 2 very swollen eyes and a big lump of his forehead. It was AMAZING to me to see that a mere 3 hours later he looked normal. He's snorter too. It's so cute, he snorts when eating and when he's wiggling around.

Meagan and her camera came up last night and she caught these adorable pics.

Here he is......Jackson Travis (J.T.) Kinley.......

We'll post more pics later.
