I was looking back and noticed that I only put things on here about my kid. So I thought I might change it up a bit and let y'all get to know a little more about me. Maybe you only read this for updates about the baby, but for those who don't, I thought I would enlighten ya a little bit on some little things that are Crissy....in the secular sense.
I just stumbled across a new video/song by Bon Jovi...Make A Memory (actually I think it's about a year old, but it's new to me). OK I have to admit this out loud, y'all....I like Bon Jovi, a lot! Does that date me or do I just have GREAT taste in music. I really don't think I can name one bad song by them and in my opinion I think they are a legend in soft rock. Travis makes fun of me for still liking them, but really how can you not?
So hearing this song made me want to stroll down memory lane and listen to some of his old stuff. Really, they guy doesn't put out a bad song, it's just impossible. And I find it funny how a song can take you back to a certain time in your life. Like for example, the first time I heard Wanted Dead or Alive, I was eleven years old and it was the fourth of July. They were showing the video over and over again on MTV on the Downtown with Julie Brown show. It was also the weekend that Young Guns II opened (Wanted Dead or Alive was from that movie). It's funny how almost 20 years later I can still remember that weekend all due to a song. Maybe only my memory works that way, but I remember things best if a good song is playing along in the moment. Does that make sense? Do y'all have that too? If you're driving down the road, you hear a song come on the radio from years past and it reminds you of either a person or a time in your life? I can still remember the night I met Travis all from a song. It was August 12, 1995 (how's that for longevity?) we were at a high school party (we'll just leave it at that) and some one had the radio on and I remember hearing All I Need to Know by brand new artist, Kenny Chesney. Wow, how long has that been....13 years??!! Bonus: Travis and I danced to that song at our wedding, July 10, 1999....9 years ago. Y'all can sleep better knowing that. Your welcome! :-)
On another note. I was looking at a picture from our wedding day today and noticed how young and innocent (pictures can be deceiving...I was far from innocent) we both looked. Then looking at the picture right next to it was one taken of the three of us just a few weekends ago and in it I look worn out and aged, where as Travis looks great!! See I've had this theory forever and it just rang so true to me today.....Guys just getter better looking the older they get. I met Travis at the young age of 16 and now that he's at 30's back door, he's better looking than ever. But adding to that theory, I wonder if it's because I love him so much more now than I did then, or if it's because looking at him I can see all the life and memories we have made together or if it's because through growing together in Christ, He has given us marriage that I could have only dreamed of and so that makes him the most attractive person in the world to me. (or it could be that Travis is out of town and I miss him a ton....I think that has a little to do with it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!)
Just some ramblings....welcome to Crissy's world! Hey, it's more entertaining than Elmo's, right!? :-)
